The reception was at this Mexican plaza style area that is in the shopping center. They were fantastic and got the guests in a great, festive mood for the reception. The ceremony included live music, so we chose a 4-person Mariachi band. However, that did not bother us and it really added more to the leisure beach feel we were wanting. Please note that if you have a wedding on the beach, it will not be private-there will be people watching. However, this was not a problem because we were able to group everyone into the same area of the resort through Karina. Since we did not use a travel agent, Iberostar could not technically "block" rooms for us. Some travel agents wanted us to put down a credit card to block all the rooms for guests something that I did not feel comfortable with since people's plans change last minute. We opted to plan the wedding ourselves with Karina Sanchez and not use a travel agency to plan the wedding and I truly believe this was a great choice. The Iberostar wedding package is very comprehensive and had a lot of options for our 45 people wedding. Over the course of 2019, Karina corresponded with us via e-mail. Our wedding coordinator, Karina Sanchez, was very responsive and helpful to our destination wedding planning.
We worked exclusively with Iberostar weddings and all of their partners. We had our amazing wedding at Iberostar Paraiso Maya on January 2020.
